Overview

During the days of the midnight sun in June 2008, Softball Yukon hosted the 8th International Softball Federation's Junior Men's World Fast Pitch Championships in Whitehorse, Yukon, bringing over 300 athletes and coaches to the territory for the 10-day tournament. Teams from 12 nations – Canada to Australia, Japan, Denmark and South Africa – hit the fields at the Pepsi Softball Centre to compete in this major event.

History

This Whitehorse hosted event marked the 8th run of the Junior Men's World Fast Pitch Championships. ISF coordinates major events and championships in a variety of men's and women's fast and slow pitch competitions. Events take place internationally, hosted by different cities each year. ISF is the governing body for softball internationally.

Softball Yukon is the sport governing body for softball in the Yukon, scheduling and organizing all events and ballparks in the territory.

Our role

OTC provided sponsorship, marketing, event and communications support for the 2008 Junior Men's World Fast Pitch Championships. The OTC team handled media requests and developed a look and feel for the event to spread the word through its website, printed materials, advertising and broadcast media.
