Clients who require her in-depth experience with corporate communications, sponsorship and media relations can let us know.
With over 35 years of experience in the communications and public relations fields, Anne is excited to have recently adopted her ideal lifestyle: combining her passion for communications with “professional volunteering”!
A high school summer job as a stunt tester for a TV game show launched Anne’s interest in mass media and eventually led her to Carleton University, where she graduated with an Honours degree in Journalism. Before moving North in 1979, she enjoyed working as Public Affairs Officer for USC Canada, an international development agency based in Ottawa.
She joined Northwestel in 1981 as Public Affairs & Marketing Coordinator and recently retired as Director Communications, leading a team responsible for public and media relations, community investment, employee communications and community TV.
Her work with Northwestel also fed her passion for travel, by giving her the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the North, from Qikiqtarjuaq, NU to Beaver Creek, YT and over 90 communities in between.
Anne is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and has served on the IABC western Canada board of directors. She is an active Rotary Club member and a past president of her local club, and is currently also on the board of the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club. In her spare time, Anne can be found camping, kayaking, skiing or continually improving her home and garden.
